Lemon Juice and Acne Scars?

I know that lemon juice lightens scars, but I was wondering if a bottle of 100% lemon juice that you can buy at a store would have the sane effect. I know that an actual lemon is better, but I don's have any. Also could you tell me how long it would take to see results. TY.Lemon Juice and Acne Scars?
Home Remedy for Acne Scar Tissue

Mild acne scars can be treated at home

Try a home remedy for acne scar tissue if you have only mild scarring or prefer not to use store-bought products or prescriptions. You may be able to speed up the healing process naturally.

Depending on the severity of your acne, it can take anywhere from a day to several months or even years for a scar to disappear on its own. But with the right ingredients from your kitchen, you may be able to cut that time down.

The following are ingredients you can try at home on your scars. Remember that they aren鈥檛 overnight remedies and that any skin treatment, even the best treatments, take time to work. Furthermore, you must be consistent with your routine if you want to know whether or not the home remedy for acne scars is working for you.

I highly recommend you read or scroll through the free acne guide to rid acne provided on this site. If nothing else, it will help you gain an understanding of the importance of documenting how well your treatments work. You should be able to determine (by the end of your trial period) if your treatment works for you.

Natural Ingredients for Acne Scar Healing

Water is one of the most natural methods of aiding the healing process naturally for scars. In order to properly shed skin cells and let new ones grow, your skin needs to be well hydrated. Drink lots of water everyday and eat fruits and veggies.

Eating a balanced diet is also necessary for acne scar healing. This is an easy home remedy for acne scars as long as you鈥檙e already on a good diet! Why is this important? Because just as you need hydration for your skin, you also need protein to help your body rebuild skin cells quickly.

Healing your scars can be maximized naturally if the body is getting all the right nutrients to fight disease, infection, and speed up the healing process from within. Some foods to build into your diet would include chicken, fish, tofu, or soy beverages or soy substitutes that are high in protein.

Lemon juice works extremely well on scars. I personally stand by this recommendation having used it myself with great success. Lemon juice is a citric acid that is part of the Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) group. The AHAs slough off dead skin cells, help the new cells grow underneath, and give elasticity to the skin.

However, I do caution those with sensitive skin. Lemon juice stings and it could also burn. My skin is quite resilient to all kinds of natural ingredients, and so I can handle the stinging. In fact, I prefer the sensation because it means it鈥檚 working for me! Usually, I leave the lemon juice on overnight or under my makeup in the mornings. It鈥檚 never bothered or irritated me. Acne scars seem to fade twice as fast when I use it.

Aloe vera juice or gel is known for its healing ability to fade and prevent scars. You may want to try different brands since not all brands were created equal. Look for the concentration of the actual healing ingredient and whether or not it is diluted by inactive ingredients. One brand I鈥檝e heard that works well for people is Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera.

Rosehip seed oil is another home remedy for acne scarring that appears to work quite well. Research shows that rosehip oil regenerates the skin, helps reduce wrinkles, acts as an anti-aging agent, and reverses discoloration. It is used in cosmetic products and naturally for facial scarring, acne scarring, sun damage, burn marks, surgical scars, premature aging, and many other skin related problems. You should be able to find it in a health food store. Gently massage the oil onto your scars twice daily.

You can try lemon juice on your scars daily, but use moisturizer before going to bed as the lemon may cause dry skin. Always wash the scars well with warm water before applying the juice and leave on for approximately 15 minutes at a time for best results. You can also mix the lemon juice with other ingredients like cucumber or honey. Since lemon juice can make your skin more sensitive to the sun鈥檚 rays, always wear sunscreen after using a lemon treatment for your acne scarring.Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne .

Good Lucks.
Lemon juice lightens freckles but I've never heard of it being used on acne scars. Generally a peel or planing is needed on scars, or I believe there is some sort of injection therapy to plump the pitted area out.
