I really can't answer your question, because I don't date men. But I am really curious how many people would question whether someone else's zits were actually an indication of something else like herpes. Just wondering. Strange. No, buddy never used it. What i've been using Now and is really effective is by Neutrogena: Advanced Solutions, Acne Mark Fading Peel. No, buddy never used it. What i've been using Now and is really effective is by Neutrogena: Advanced Solutions, Acne Mark Fading Peel. You use it 2-3 times a week as stated on directions but I use it every other day and the redness has totally dissapeared. You'll notice the difference in a matter of Days. It's Awesome and ver inexpensive, tt runs for about $8 and you can find it at Wal-Mart, Target or any local drug store. I use mary kay 3in1 cleanser and moisterizer, oil free(I'm young and I use 3in1 cleanser, it's good for all ages no matter what it says) and there is mary kay for men as well. if u can't do that, find good products in the store, like neutrogena. it takes time for the scars to disappear, but they will in time. u just have to keep cleaning your face at least twice a day, and make sure u use oil free and acohol free stuff (well as close to it as possible) and u can use ponds to clean your face sometimes too. I know how u feel. but u have to be patient.

Go to a doctor first and let him send you to a dermatologist...
There are a lot of things you can do that are over the counter but they are not permanant and they are just a waste of money. Go to a dermatologist they will recomend something like a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or laser resurfacing. They are all good effective FDA aproved methods of treating what you have. The doctor will tell you what is best for face. It wont be cheap but it is worth it.
im not sure about the pores.. but you could get mederma for the scars.. it doesnt make them go away fully but it makes them not as noticable

Use a gentle soap (the ones formulated specifically for acne or containing salicylic acid are irritating, drying, and ineffective). Pick a non-comedogenic soap. The most effective for me has been Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar. If you prefer a liquid cleanser, go with Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash (though the bar soap has been slightly more effective for me). Use your bare hands, not a washcloth, and be gentle. Wash your face twice a day -- but if your face is very oily, you may need to wash it more than that. Pat gently with a towel to dry. If you have washed your face in the shower, then wait 10 minutes to let your skin dry. If you have washed your face in the sink, then wait 5 minutes.
Use a topical benzoyl peroxide ointment. The best by far is ZAPZYT Acne Treatment Gel. There is nothing that comes close in its effectiveness and agreeability with skin. Apply gently over acne areas (don't rub in), just glide your finger over the areas. Make sure it's absorbed into the skin without rubbing it in.
I have not tried this -- but I hear Lac-Hydrin Five Moisturizing Lotion (or any other such AHA lotion) is good for even skin tone. So be sure to check out a good AHA lotion.
Twice a week in the morning after washing face, mix a tablespoon of lemon juice with a tablespoon of yogurt and apply to face. Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse. Don't use any other products just at this time after washing.
I'm an RN and I worked with a woman that had the worst acne and acne scars I have ever seen. She went to Dr. Chenault Haley, one of the more prominent dermatologist in Atlanta. I noticed one day that her face looked as smooth as a baby's butt so I asked what had she done and she said that Dr. Haley told her to shave her face every morning (not eyebrows). You could try calling his office to confirm or go to website. If you google him you will find several listings for him. Good luck, it isn't hopeless.

You may want to see a dermatologist or you could try a product with Benzoyl Peroxide, like Acne Free (almost the same thing as Proactiv but 1/2 the cost and I have found it at Target and Walgreens.) Hope this helps.
go to your local beauty supply store in the section for facial products and buy some glycolic acid for exfoliation, you do not rinse off. once it drys apply a light amount of cocco butter every night because this treatment is not good to go in the sun and this will not only stop your acne but smooth any scaring you may have had.
I would recommend seeing a medical esthetician or dermatologist for microdermabrasion or chemical peels. Both will lighten the acne scars, but sun damage and scars are permanent. You can lessen the look of them, but they will never truly go away. A more severe measure would be to see a dermatologist about having a more intense skin resurfacing which requires some down time and can be very painful. Look into treatment options and have a consultation to make sure you choose the right one for you.
ya all that's crap. tanning or any sun exposure can only make them worse because basically acne scaring(the medical term for it is hyper pigmentation) is cause by an increase in pigment or melenin in the skin....use a glycolic acid based lightener...this should calm the melenin down and eventually fade the acne scaring...but were sunscreen! it greatly increases your skin's sensitivity! i have hyperpigmentation also. I read a book on skincare and apparently TCA Peels are a good treatment for the scars, in conjunction with isotretonin aka Retin-A.
So basically you get your face peeled with a ';light'; non toxic chemical once, or possibly twice if you need it, and then put Retin-A cream on your face starting the day your face has healed from the TCA Peel, and you put the retin-A cream for 6 weeks, and it works wonders apparently. P.s. you can order tca peels on the internet and do it ureself for like 40 bucks, or see a doctor and get them to do it for like 900 bucks. You can get Retin-A on the internet or from a doctor. If all else fails, you could get laser resurfacing for a couple thousand dollars, double p.s. acne scars do fade a bit with time, even without treatment but were talking years.

Don't apply lemon straight to your skin, it can burn your skin with the acid, also it can make your skin go darker.
Try using vitamin E oil.
i have hyperpigmentation also. I read a book on skincare and apparently TCA Peels are a good treatment for the scars, in conjunction with isotretonin aka Retin-A.
So basically you get your face peeled with a ';light'; non toxic chemical once, or possibly twice if you need it, and then put Retin-A cream on your face starting the day your face has healed from the TCA Peel, and you put the retin-A cream for 6 weeks, and it works wonders apparently. P.s. you can order tca peels on the internet and do it ureself for like 40 bucks, or see a doctor and get them to do it for like 900 bucks. You can get Retin-A on the internet or from a doctor. If all else fails, you could get laser resurfacing for a couple thousand dollars, double p.s. acne scars do fade a bit with time, even without treatment but were talking years.

i heard bio-oil is bad for your fACe but ive never tried it for my acne scars personally. but others have had bad experiences with it so i'd consult a professional if i were you before trying bio-oil.

Can I ever get rid of enlarged pores left from acne scarring?
I had moderate acne as a teenager but I have three or four large acne scars that are enlarged pores. They are pretty big and very easy to see as they are dented in and my skin is not smooth. If I get a chemical peel or microdermabrasion, can these large craters go away? Thank god they are only on one part of my cheek on each side of my face and not all over like it is for some. Microderma can help as long as these craters as you call them are not too deep. If they are, a deep chemical peel can be of more help.
